PETER GABRIEL, Palacio de los Deportes, Madrid September 22, 2010.

is necessary to recognize in advance that Peter Gabriel has achieved for me for many years a state of grace in which I forgive him almost everything. It's one of my personal idols both in the strictly musical and human, and that its size as a person, human rights activist and her involvement in the screening of culture in the world with Womad and Real World will become a personality of enormous size.

From here despite altísmos prices of inputs, assistance to the concerto was absolutely mandatory, whatever the project or the proposal that Mr Gabriel did.

waiting in the video displays an advertisement appeared in one of the organizations in which Peter is involved, WITNESS , which is to denounce all forms of abuse to Taves from eyewitnesses who use the power that technology da now. Scratch my Back

was mistakenly presented as "a cover album of other artists made orchestral arrangements" and that it is not, at least accurately.

As normal, a detail that adds more and more admiration for the artist and the character, Peter Gabriel appeared promptly at 9 pm at the Sports Palace, armed with their pages with translation into Castilian and took time to explain what we would see. Always thank worthy effort, so that the artist, without singing a note, establishing a close relationship with the audience.

told us, struggling with language, that the first part would be played Scratch my Back full and in order. I'd imagined as a story told from beginning to end and that was the meaning of the songs and order them. And after a review would follow with their own issues. And in another detail that will always honor, presented to us Anna Brun, a Norwegian singer then accompany him on vocals along with his daughter Melanie.

Anna showed us his work briefly with two songs. His voice is a little cold at times reminded me at the buzzer to Annie Haslam.

And again we went to the serious. The orchestra and a grand piano on stage and dressed all a waste of creativity in the projection, video curtain up and down and the bottom screen so that the visual spectacle is impressive. So

SMB lyrics are unraveling with more or less brilliant, some moments are a bit slow, embellished with enough projections organic at first and then go to other songs humanizing. The music unit is no doubt, Peter's perfect voice and some songs are just spectacular as My body is a Cage with the orchestra sounding very powerful, The Power of Your Heart in a beautiful version that far surpasses the original. Featured also The Book of Love with child graphics full of winks and humorous detail to show Tony Levin, David Rhodes and battery current cartoon.

After a break we started the second half. All subjects themselves starting with San Jacinto. Absolutely brutal versions of Signal to Noise, The Rhythm of the Heat and Red Rain. Once again demonstrated that the most powerful that there is a symphony orchestra playing at full speed. Not heavy metal or anything. For example the end of that Signal to Noise is an orgy of indescribable sound that deserved and earned a lengthy standing ovation with the audience mostly stood.

Intruder version is creepy, possibly the best I've ever heard, my hair stood like hooks. There was also a low point as Downside Up, as Melanie was not nothing finer in the solo parts and the song suffered.

and closed, how could it be otherwise with a festive version of Solsbury Hill, an eternal theme and uplifting, palms and the desire to dance in whatever format. I'm sure if done a capella with a Gregorian choir would be just as happy and chatty.

The encore begins with a thrilling version of In Your Eyes, which, as always, my tears started and I get a lump in his throat. The pity is that after such an emotional moment interpretation of Do not Give Up is not up to it. Anna Brun makes the female voice and frankly, not up to scratch, a real shame.

And the concert closes with The Nest That Sailed the Sky in Ovo interpreted only by the orchestra with a coda with Peter, and with a towel his neck to wipe the sweat, playing piano solo.

Another tremendous experience with Peter Gabriel. The pity is that so little direct prodigue. The last time was nothing less than 7 years too long. Peter is back with the band soon, please.
