How To Hide Pipes From Sink

High Voltage Festival, London Victoria Park. Day 1, July 24, 2010

From the first glimpse of the festival lineup promises. On the first day focused groups we had seen quite recently but we had left a good taste and made us hope to see again. In addition to two events in height then review it.

The site is in the midst of the immense Victoria Park, the reality is that many of the parks are huge and mounting Lndres infrastructure of this style is no problem. A wide entrance, two concourses medium for small stages, the Stage Prog trees also have very timely alleviate the sunshine. Then put several entertainment and food of almost every kind, plenty of portable bathrooms kept clean enough that two days and a huge main stage with room for 60,000 people at least.

I can not say how many people had. The day before in an interview with Foreigner spoke of some 45,000 people. The good news is that as the average age was quite high, admittedly, at no time was tightness, even with the strong numbers. And that is thanks a lot. In addition the British public is very respectful and were absent duck and quacks that abound in concerts around here, except a very timely moment.

After doing a bit of glue to collect our wristbands and pass the corresponding input register started happily spend money, buying the program of the festival, very nice, very well edited and interesting reading, and called Lanyards, which contained a laminated card with ribbon hanging up all hours of the weekend more interesting festival. Convenient to organize.

We were wrong and bought two glasses of cider (cider was no beer) but at least it was chilly and it was not bad and we started on the Stage with Pendragon Prog.

not be easy to go out and play at 1 and evening peak with a fairly punishing sun, yes, but was stuck in London. But the hosts took to sack Nick Barrett. 40 minutes were very good, with great sound, enjoying a band on stage and showing that they have quality and tables to give and take. The audience was eager to catch the festival and it showed. If I remember correctly played Freak Show and closed his short set with Masters of Illusion, short, certainly, but were very good to begin with.

We had the misfortune, on the other side could be luck, that just after we placed some English, with their shirts jurgolera and the flag in the most unpleasant national tradition stuck concert talk. I say lucky because from that moment we saw the red shirts as we ran like the plague. What a pain in the ass the English!.

After that we made a quick break to eat something while riding the Focus team. Laura decided to stay at the small shadow but I had to see them up close. This was one of the most desired by me. Focus live at the Rainbow was one of the first albums I heard in my life and it was assumed that this was going to play repertoire.

From the original formation of the Dutch band have two players, the factotum Thijs van Leer, real father of the band in their day, and drummer Pierre van der Linden. They have been joined by two younger musicians Bobby Jacobs on bass and Niels van der Steenhoven on guitar. The latter, as expected do miss the great Jan Akkerman, but their work is correct enough for large pieces of Focus sound good.

The first chords of Focus III I put a little lump in my throat. There was the very old Hammond sounding like Van Leer 70. On stage were having a great time and the public as or better. With the House of the King holiday palms warmed up and the concert to continue rallying. When they touched the tear Sylvia looked below me sunglasses. I never thought to see this music live. Pure glory. Van Leer is perfect in the organ and flute and plays in his vocals, not sung. The rhythm section is sufficiently competent and Niels improvement as it gets warmer.

The final was an excellent Hocus Pocus, echoed by the public as Thijs and no voice to make a lot of fanfare, but enjoying it as a small child. A wonderful and unique feeling for the first time in the Festival.

With a smile on helplessly as we moved towards the main stage where they already should have begun our old acquaintances, The Answer.

The Irish are in a sweet moment. Bowling many opening for AC / DC have given a brutal stage presence. Cormac Neeson is a frontman before, with her long hair and microphone in hand dancing attracts the eyes hypnotized, while the band sounds more and more solid and the Belfast Blues is increasingly attached. No matter the heat or the hour, 3 o'clock in the afternoon, they gave it all to a given audience and wanting to have fun. Closed with Under the Sky and finished with the Holy riff Diver in tribute to Dio.

The Answer Once finished the journey took us back to Prog Bigelf Stage where he was playing.

Perfectly uniform with his "play clothes", but Damon's coat I guess that would have removed due to heat energy was being discharged with strong sunshine.

When we presented Frustration Fox which was followed by the immeasurable Blackball. I still find it a masterpiece and I enjoyed like crazy. And on top, back, another of my favorites, Disappear, I was in heaven but I realized that they were not well known among the public. There were some who were enjoying a bumper and others. the most, merely looking.

Horny parliament Focus Damon thanked for opening up for them and his claim that he was the most expected concert ELP keyboardist obvious being so dedicated to vintage instruments. Still carries the Hammond, Mellotron and the Minimoog and Yoda.

They closed with what he presented as the Money Medley, ie the two songs about money spliced. Grand final, no doubt.

We approached the fence to see if we could appear and greet but there was no way, so we throw to the main stage to see Foreigner.

Foreigner with Kelly Hansen is a second youth. On stage are well greased and machinery works perfectly. Among the magnetism of frontman Kelly, the rotund presence of Mick Jones, the big boss, and the dynamism of Tom Gimbel and Jeff Pilson, the band sounds powerful and their concerts are a feast.

the code does not vary much from that they have done at other festivals, opening with Double Vision and Head Games, and other classics like Starrider shelling, Cold As Ice, Feels Like the First Time and then attack in an electrifying Urgent that Gimbel looks on sax, Juke Box Hero and final detailing out to accompany them on I Want to Know What Love Is to a choir of kids, sadly, only they listened.

short but super fun concert that left us with a great taste. And lo, when we come back to the Progressive scene we found himself face to face with Cormac Neeson talking on the phone.

Obviously we approach it with intent to at least get a photo. kindly answered, hung up the call and talked with him briefly. An authentic Irish which we hope to see again soon. As I said, "I think Answer the fucking you're for sure ".

The next thing was Asia, which did not really have much interest in watching. Of course, we come to pay my respects to the Master Howe and make a couple of pictures and then just chilled a bit and we got to do a couple of photos before returning to the Classic Rock Stage for one of the highlights of the day.

Heaven & Hell were announced at the festival from the start. The Dio's death seemed at first that made them disappear from the lineup but then the band decided to use the occasion to honor, deservedly, to the great Ronnie James Dio. I was going to be the last time where H & H would appear as such under that name. And for that Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinnie Appice called on two high-level vocalists, Glenn Hughes, a close friend of both Dio and Tony and Geezer had already sung at the funeral and paid for the happy occasion. With him Jorn Lande, lesser-known but gifted with a phenomenal voice and just released a tribute album with covers of Dio which does justice to the teacher's voice.

was a H & H concert vocalists alternating at first with the traditional static poses Iommi and Butler while downloading the most compelling riffs. More restrained and Hughes Lande removing his most histrionic but both singing excellently, though perhaps the voices would have needed a bit more volume. Mob Rules rang, I, Children of the Sea, Bible Black, Voodoo, Die Young tinged with foreboding, etc.

to close Wendy Dio, tremendously excited, read a brief statement and rang, powerful, Heaven & Hell, sung with passion by Jorn and Glenn before a sea of horns. After retiring again had to attack, as expected, Neon Knights in which they were joined on stage also that I first thought it was a spontaneous but then I found out it was Phil Anselmo, singer Down.

Concert
intense, emotional and historic event without any doubt, which showed that Jorn Lande is worth a high draft once, I do not know if Masterplan. His voice is one which deserves much more.

forces were already a fair bit, so we decided to take a bit of petrol in the tank, we held a Jack Daniels and we practically planted in the front row, clinging to one of the towers of sound, to see Transatlantic.

In its day I thought would be a festival to consider something different, but I was wrong. Since they 1:30 in time decided to play The Whirlwind, which is already 1:15 and then close.

And so there they were, playing The Wirlwind with the same passion energy and enthusiasm in May when I saw in Madrid. And there are few bands that I have as much fun on stage. We notice that you have a great time and half hour we were there served to check it again. Also served to meet Donna, an American friend of my travel time to see Yes. We parted way of main stage again and summons us to see each other more smoothly the next day.

And we went to take place, which meant that we missed the end of the concert, which, as I read later, Steve Hackett joined them to play Return of the Giant Hogweed Genesis (shit, shit, shit).

The highlight of the day were ZZ Top. A band that ever stepped on Spain in 40 years and that they do posibiliddes seemed so remote, so were some of the reasons for the trip.

As Billy Gibbons said in a moment, there were, 40 years later, the same three types and the same 3 chords. And no longer needed. The assembly is restrained, with two speaker stacks flanking battery and a video screen that animates the songs.

Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill are coordinated perfectly, their actions and choreography are terse but are fully tested millimeter. The guitar and bass sounds great and Frank Beard is kept discreetly in the background but carrying the relentless rhythms. Fall classic, Got Me Under Pressure, Waiting for the bus, Jesus has left Chicago, Cheap Sunglases ...

At one point Billy realizes that Dusty takes the perfect hat for playing Blues, but he did not, so ask one. And two lovely ladies clad showgirls of sweet 20 take him away. And with it marks a tremendous bluesazos couple in a beautiful Les Paul gold alternating with irregular classical guitar.

At another point brought a little girl began to strum the guitar while he put the chords, "I want to take the job," he said later. And rang Hey Joe under the photo of he called "my friend Jimi" on the screen. The display

then came the legendary consistency and the video for Gimme All Your Lovin and closed the set with Legs.

The encore was more than clear, the guitars "cloud," and spliced with Tush La Grange.
Sensational
are a unique band for many reasons and still showing.
wrong, but I would like to be the only time I go to see live was a perfect concert.

made the mistake of thinking that we could buy something to eat on the premises before leaving, but these Europeans already know and then it was all collected. Fortunately, in the walk back we found a super open (there are not Chinese but Pakistan) and we could have dinner after a shower rewarding especially our feet, thanked. Day

round perfect in all respects, except that we burn in areas where we had hit the sun. A small inconvenience for the next day.
